Centre Forms 'High-Powered' Task Force For Exams Overhaul; Technology, Cybersecurity, Policy Reforms
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a six-member high-powered task force to overhaul India’s examination system amid rising concerns over paper leaks and exam malpractice. The panel will be led by Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani and brings together experts from technology, security, academia and governance to deliver structural and technology-driven reforms.Former ISRO Chairman Dr S. Somnath will focus on building robust, fail-safe systems for secure exam logistics, while former Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Kumar Deka will lead efforts to strengthen the security framework and crack down on organised cheating networks. IIT Madras Director V. Kamakoti will drive cybersecurity and digital infrastructure, ensuring secure and scalable exam platforms. Education expert and former CBSE Chairperson Anita Karwal will align reforms with policy and student needs, and IAS officer Amrit Lal Meena will oversee implementation and operational efficiency across the country.The task force will examine every stage of the examination process, from question paper security to result processing, with a strong push for digital solutions. The move signals a major shift towards long-term systemic reform to make India’s exams more secure, transparent and credible.
